National Food Bank Day 2025

National Food Bank Day highlights the critical role food banks play in supporting vulnerable communities. Donors are a critical element of the support we can provide.
To commemorate our commitment to NYC since 1983, we’re asking for donations in multiples of $83.
Data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics shows 1983 grocery prices:
-Loaf of white bread was around $0.54
-Gallon of milk was around $2.26
-Families spent, on average, $234/month at the grocery store
Meanwhile today:
-Loaf of white bread is around $2.09
-Gallon of milk is around $4.16
-Families spend, on average, $659/month at the grocery store
Thank you for your support and helping feed our neighbors in need!
